Why Atuin? A'tuin is the world turtle in Sir Terry Pratchett novels, and the Hopton Family are all big fans, we also love turtles.

Pete is on his YOLT "You Only Live Twice" mission, having narrowly escaped death in 2019 after skiing off a cliff at 49.8mph. Following the vision of mentor, Mike Briercliffe, who sadly passed away after covid lockdown.

Pete is committed to improving the journey of founders and value creators, in the face of the hazards of venture. Pete believes that supporting, growing and protecting founders in the right ecosystems, and accelerating "Zero to One" will drive regional wealth and job creation.

Creators of Venture.Community

Venture.Community tells the story of "Zero to One" as turtles on a beach, running to the sea from their recent hatching in the sand. Pete's work here advocates entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs to accelerate and optimise this journey, and then to continue to support them with training and network once they reach the sea (Series A funding).

Atuin.Ventures is the creator of Venture.Community, the venture society.

We are building and administering a network of allied co-operative societies to bring venture-tech-ecosystems into community ownership.
